AGH is a subcontractor participating in field measurements of emanations of methane and carbon dioxide from areas of potential storage of carbon dioxide in geological formations.

The project is carried out in cooperation with the German Space Agency (DLR). The research concerns the balance of methane emissions in Upper Silesia thanks to the combination of various forms of mobile (ground and airborne) measurements. In 2018 and 2019 a number of measurements were performed in Upper Silesia.

Projekt powstał we współpracy z ogólnokrajowym operatorem sieci gazociągów GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. Celem projektu było przeprowadzenie wstępnej oceny potencjalnego zagrożenia radiacyjnego, związanego z transportem gazu ziemnego. Na podstawie pomiarów stężenia radonu (222Rn) w transportowanym gazie ziemnym, stężenia ołowiu (210Pb) w generowanych w trakcie transportu odpadach stałych oraz pomiarów mocy dawki dokonano analizy potencjalnych źródeł zagrożenia radiacyjnego.
