Laboratories

Environmental Physics Group offers cooperation in the measurement and interpretation of the isotopic composition of surface and groundwater. We also perform analyses of the isotopic composition of water at the request of domestic and foreign institutions. We are a leading center of applications of isotopic methods in hydrogeology. The team offers comprehensive analyses of levels of natural radioactivity of various types of environmental materials, as well as analyses of the concentration and composition of trace gases in the atmosphere.

Our instruments and offering are listed at the AGH Research Offer database (oferta-badawcza.agh.edu.pl) and include:

  • Measurement of concentration of natural (e.g., 40K, 226Ra i 228Th) and artificial gamma-radiation nuclides by gamma spectrometry in environmental samples (geological samples, soil, plants, food), in building materials, and industrial samples. In particular, accurate measurements of 210Pb, including self-absorption in the sample.
